Ahhhhhh… the gorgeous caterpillar finally emerged into the dynamic
butterfly … CONGRATULATIONS LAURA!
To see Laura volunteer to be the Team Leader - AMAZING!
To experience Laura’s commitment to her team and their performance -
AMAZING!
She has blossomed and her growth is not yet over. I felt her team’s
presentation hit the mark, more than the other one.
Another EXCELLENT presentation, and I look forward to viewing Episode 6.
Regards,
John in Australia.
PS - I have come across Big Jason on the Internet recently. He needs to
seriously change his attitude.

i find it ironic that joel criticized the audio production choices that team “all in” made when his own show regularly has a large amount of hum (which i understand can be unavoidable at times), and seemingly makes very little use of lavalier mics. are those interviews filmed in a boxy room with the microphones pointed in the other direction? particularly for a video that will be playing through small, frequently cheap computer speakers streaming over the internet, there aught to be a little more concern taken to the production audio.
as for the team’s video, joel’s right that shooting outside using the built-in camera mic wasn’t a good idea, but is understandable considering their status as audio/video n00bs. for a fully funded show to fail at comprehensible audio, particularly in completely controlled interview situations, is just… well, it’s bad business.

I think this was a great episode. I love how if the audio quality wasn’t good you added subtitles so we wouldn’t miss anything.
I definitely like the new look Laura. I think you’re a true gem and a rising powerhouse. I see great things coming from you.
The speaker this week is spot on with the use of video being a staple in every marketing effort. Charles Trippy is ahead of the game in that respect. However, while their video would have and probably will make it a hit on YouTube, I don’t think it’s professional.
As someone writing my own book right now, I would not send it to a company with a cheesy commercial/ad like that. It tells me they are not serious. The last second with the guy holdting a ton of books, giving the thumbs up, is the killer. That’s what lost it for me.
Joel, I know you picked Charles’ team to win, but I hope you don’t use their ad.
I want my publishing company to be a serious business partner, not a cheesy “We’ll publich anything. (Ding)” type place.
The video put out by Laura’s team I can see as being on TV and getting a great response.
